The life of one-time James Bond actor George Lazenby is told in a unique documentary/narrative hybrid.  Official selection of the 2017 SXSW Film Festival.

This stranger-than-fiction life story charts Lazenby’s origins as a poor Australian car mechanic who, through an unbelievable set of circumstances, landed the role of James Bond in 1969’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, despite having never acted a day in his life.  Then after being offered the next six Bond films and a $1 million signing bonus, he turned it all down…

Lazenby’s impressively detailed memories are delivered with an over-the-top conviction that would make Robert Evans blush, daring viewers to challenge the validity of his frequently outrageous tales.  With a reenactment cast that includes Jeff Garlin, Jane Seymour, and Dana Carvey, Becoming Bond is a riotous tale of loves lost and fame gained.
