Like many people in L.A., struggling video artist Mike (Mike Pinkney) has a dream – a dream to remake Brian DePalma’s Carrie with a cast entirely composed of cats.  While his producer doesn’t quite share his vision, Mike holds out hope that one day the funding will come.  In the meantime, he spends his days earning a living as a dog groomer and his nights trying to figure out how to deal with the increasing rat problem in his apartment before they eat all of his bananas.  Things look bleak until Mike meets the beautiful and alluring Cora (Sonja Kinski, granddaughter of Klaus Kinski), now all he has to do is make his apartment presentable in time for their big date…

After years of helming music videos for such high profile acts as Bad Religion, Ryan Adams, and The Shins, director (and former dog groomer) Michael Reich explodes into feature filmmaking with a debut that is truly unlike anything you’ve ever experienced.  An unclassifiable blend of lo-fi video art, oddball humor, and unforgettably surreal imagery, She’s Allergic to Cats will melt your brain, steal your heart, and make you consider re-watching Congo for the first time since the 90’s. — Matt Garrett
