(2013, 90 minutes, Dir. Jeff Krulik)
Director Jeff Krulik in attendance!
January 20, 1969 – were you there?
1969. Man lands on the moon. Half a million strong at Woodstock. Sesame Street makes its debut….and Led Zeppelin perform in the gym of the Wheaton Youth Center in suburban Maryland in front of 50 confused teenagers. Or did they? Filmmaker Jeff Krulik explores an enduring regional legend, which doubles as microcosm of what was happen- ing nationwide as the rock concert industry took shape. Featuring interviews with rock writers, musicians, and fans, and several who claim they were there witnessing history that night.
“Zeppelin-in-Wheaton is Washington’s own rock-and-roll Loch Ness Monster. Could it possibly be real? Yes. No way. Depends whom you ask.” – David Montgomery, Washington Post
“Rock-and-Roll Rashomon” LED ZEPPELIN PLAYED HERE is the latest film from Maryland-based Jeff Krulik (HEAVY METAL PARKING LOT) who will be making his return to PhilaMOCA for a post-screening Q&A.
